Berlin

Berlin is the capital city of Germany. It crosses the Spree River. All types of museums and art galleries scatter everywhere in the city. From war, ethnic split, to the imperialistic dream, all are vividly demonstrated in lively Berlin. Famous scenic spots: Berlin Wall, also known as the Antifaschistischer Schutzwall. Built in 1961, it symbolized German split and cold war after World War II. The purpose was to separate East Berlin and West Berlin. The wall was pulled down in 1990 and the two Germanys reunited as one.

Brandenburger Tor

Brandenburger Tor was located in Berlin-Mitte. On top of the door is a 4-horse chariot ridden by the Goddess of Victory. The old Berlin Wall was built nearby, representing the past split of the country. Since 1989 when the wall was removed, Brandenburger Tor has become the symbol of German reunion.

Berlin Cathedral

Berlin Cathedral is a new Baroque church of historic value. It was built between 1893 and 1905 as the main poly place of Prussian Protestants.
